That will really be a zoomer on the SS!!!! Nice. Your Spartan really does look nice and your workmanship outstanding, so please don't take my comment the wrong way. Just a personal preference on finishing.

I was wearing clothes when I finished it, though.

Roberta,

I like the look of yours in the buff, ... But your plywood was a little better looking than mine. I thought about leaving the coaming's in the buff, ... but then I thought it might be out of place.

Still trying to decide if the main color will be white or yellow. I'm leaning on the side of the yellow, ... for now.

Also, ... I'm a little surprised that no one picked up or mentioned, ... Where is the Transom Knee? :?:

Answer, ... I'm picking up the lumber for it today. I will sand the primer off at the knees location and then put it in place. I wanted to get the primer out of the way and the motor wasn't here yet to get the exact location of the knee.

I searched for some DF to build the Transom Knee from, but every piece of wood was to fresh and wet. I used some of the left over mahogany and laminated one together.

Hello Mr. Super Spartan, ... Meet Mr. Yamato.

I'm mounting the aluminum transom pads on the inside and outside, cutting to length and mounting the throttle cable and steering systems. I figured I get it all ready to go before sand and prep the cockpit for paint. Less potential for paint damage

Fantastic Workmanship....but the motor looks a bit high, I set the cav plate level or just below bottom of the hull..

Different kind of boat...engine height is different on a hydro....I'd start there where he has it

How far below the bottom of the boat is the center of the propshaft?

I thought it looked pretty good, too, Warren. Might even go up a bit. But a good starting point.

Thanks All,

I have the top of the prop shaft in line with the bottom of the hull. It can go up a tiny bit as long as I don't start steaming. You guys are right It's a good starting point. Heck, everything has been hooked up, I even fired up the engine for about 20 seconds or so to get the deadman throttle adjusted. Only thing left is the wire mounts for the kill switch.

Now, the inside gets color, ... after I remove it all.

A splash of color.

Freshly sanded and moments before the last coat.

Last coat of paint dried real nice. After masking off the white, ... I am now adding the decking.

Also, ... After talking with a few people that deal with the Yamato engines, they suggested that I lower my transom .500". And just think, I had all the aluminum goodies all drilled and test fitted.

Oh well, I think I'll remove the .500" with an electric planer.

After the rear decks cured, ... 1 hour  , ... (it was 90+ yesterday) I waited until 11:30 PM when the temperature dropped to 75 I put the front decks on. The Cowl, went on this morning. Time to sand the outer edges.
