 Post subject: Exhaust Hose Surprise

Lookee what I found!
Both hoses (they are older than dirt).
3' down from the manifold at the muffler connection. The cut was necessary to free them from the fiberglass connector.

I have seen a pretty decent v-drive sink at the dock as a result of a failed exh hose on a below-the-waterline outlet.

too cheap to replace to risk that failure

I've been tracing a leak that seems to be coming from "back there"... I'll need to drain and pull the fuel tank to get a good look at what is going on. (sigh)... I don't know if I'll get in the water this summer. I am running out of days.
