Splash goes the ISLAND GIRL....

After couple of years of hard work, planing, pondering, backaches, sore muscles and great deal of fun and satisfaction, reward at last. My Bo Jest was launched. Looks great... Need to finish a couple of details (cabin top and running lights) but she is home, sits right on the lines and looks just fine. Lots of compliments and comments from neighbors.
Did not do sea trials yet until all the details are done. That way they will get done..

A couple of pics are attached, more to follow...
Ciao,
Sam

Congrats! Very cool boat. Seeing it suspended by the crane must of been nerve wracking!

Very nice!
Although that second pic has a decent "pucker factor" to it. I would have been quite nervous watching her hang there.

My heart skipped a beat (or two)... But I had confidence since I watched the same crane lift several old fashioned woody boats, approx. same length but much heavier I'm sure... But all is well that ends well..

Congratulations on your launch. The truck ride was probably a little scary! I really like the wood trim below the sheer or is that actually a coaming.

The coaming was efficient use of leftover wood slats from teak doors I acquired at one time. Used similar materials for bow sprit (more like a landing platform). Wanted a stable place to land when boarding thus the shape...

Wow, would love to see more pics of it underway!

I am nervous just looking at that boat hanging in mid-air!!

Great job! Enjoy!

That is really nice Island Girl! I don't recall seeing a Bo Jest with an open pilot house--it looks nice. Thanks for posting!

Great work, I am sure you are going to be working feverishly to get it done and do sea trials.

That looks really nice. I am especially fond of the open cockpit look. Gives me visions of a nice convertible top that sit along the transom and the can cover the entire cockpit. A bit of engineering but would look fabulous and gets you out of the sun when needed. Boat looks stellar.

Nice boat! I love the whites with the natural wood tones, looks fantastic!

Croatia is on my short-list of future vacation destinations. :D
