Re: CRACKER BOX
Looks GREAT in the water!!!
When driving it did you try to push through the proposing ? Some time it mite take a nother 5 to 10 MPH to get away from the problem? But LIFE Jacket time!! and a safty boat!
I would try some sand bags up front and is it would help settel the boat?

Re: CRACKER BOX
No doubt in my mind that after such a ride she's worth all the work and time! Awesome boat Fergal!
Re: CRACKER BOX
That first day is SUCH an adrenalin rush. Congratulations on a job well done. The issues can and will be worked out, one by one. I'm quite sure very few of us who have gone through the process can say. "yup, everything was JUST perfect". This winter I'll be adjusting my waterline by quite a bit, as well as dealing with carburetor issues and a rudder cavitation problem, but in the meantime, IT'S REALLY FUN!!!!

Congrats! Thanks for the ride
Re: CRACKER BOX
Fergal,
Kris just told me you splashed your Crackerbox. I went to youtube to see your vid.
Great job. Glad to hear the first launch went well. I can't remember if you built 15' or 16-1/2'. If you went 15' and used the trans/V8 combo you are probably bow heavy already.
Adding weight to the bow may be a mistake. Take it slow if you do add bow weight.
Again, Great showing. Now you need a chase boat to get more video.

If you don't build it now, You will regret it later! Already regreting it

Re: CRACKER BOX
Cheers guy's, Hi Jim I went with the 15 foot but even with two guys in her she was still doing it, I need to get out with a proper chase boat to see how she rides from outside the boat. This was by backup boat for the day and for some reason he couldn't keep up

Re: CRACKER BOX
Great work, beautiful boat !
Now the real fun begins, getting her just right on the water.
You might want to consider adjustable trim tabs, I'll bet that they will solve the proposing issue. I think other Cracker Box builders have used them.

Re: CRACKER BOX
Cheers Bob, Yea I think trim tabs would the way to go I just fear they will take the look off her lovely ass
If anyone has used wedges on the hull I would love to hear how found them failing that any pro's and con's to self levelling trim tabs compared to electric.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Fergal... Really nice job.. She looks great.. Those trim tabs do take away from the clean transom look, but they work well when keeping the boat level side to side, and may help with the porposing issue. They are not needed at all to get these boats on plane, but do make for a good place to mount stern thrusters... Love my thrusters.....Neel

Thanks Neel, Are your tabs self adjusting or electric ?

Fergal,
That's a great interview. I enjoy the nice accents you both have! Nice background music too--Boston is one of my favorite bands
