Re: Mid year Titan progress
Greetings-Thanks for the glass advice Doug of which I'll adopt and I'll expect it expensive here as well. There is no point in using an inferior type of glazing that may stove in from a wave.
Good to hear from you finally Carlos!-Good luck with Carioca.
The engine used is Kubota based three cylinder rated @ 30HP and marinised by Beta Marine.
I have good expectations with the Kubota having owned other equipment with the same motor.
For instance, a loader of mine with 5500 hours and apart from oil changes, has not had a spanner on it.
A 15 year old ride on mower has had similar work and no faults either.
The Beta has an anode on the heat exchanger whereas Nanni variant does not and was a cheaper package overall. Gearbox is Twin Disc with 2:1 reduction.
Regardless of who you go with, it is best to get a basic control panel and then add the additional gauges(Oil, temp, fuel etc ) yourself. It will save over one thousand dollars I found.
Otherwise lots of varnishing going on here and starting on the cabin door.
Regards-C.R.

Hard to go wrong with a Kubota. Keep the oil and fuel clean and it should last forever in a pleasure boat. Its sad how many diesel engine owners, especially sailboat owners, don't keep up on maintenance.

Hi all-Still plugging away on the Titan, although considerable time was lost from a guy who was looking after the hull painting.( I do not have the gear or location to spray paint).
Anyway getting on with the interior fitout, engine/shaft is installed and now at lock-up stage to the exterior.
Exciting times and hoping to launch late June, all going well.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Wow, impressive work. If possible can you post some more pictures of the boat?

Re: Mid year Titan progress
Hi all-Finally got all the electrics sorted and funnily enough all the gear works.
There was one small lead left off the back of the starter motor and took a while to figure out why the engine would not turn over.
Got that fixed and after bleeding the fuel twice the little Kubota came to life. It runs with very little vibration and after engaging the gearbox in forward/reverse, everything is operational-A BIG DAY!
We put a barrier coat on the underwater sections with antifoul now to follow.
The handrail goes on tomorrow along with some deck tread up forward.
At this point expected launch is for this coming Wednesday.

Re: Mid year Titan progress
Greetings all-Thanks for your positive comments.
As it is winter here, timing is everything and we launched the Titan in favourable conditions today.
I cannot speak highly enough of the plans,as the boat sits perfectly level in the water and to it's designed water line.(This has got to be every boat builders dream)
There are many a disaster in this harbour where yachts and power boats have not gone to plan. I know and used to own one, back in 1988.
The 30 Hp Kubota runs smooth and the PSS shaft seal presented no problems.
Best day ever!
