Has anyone had any luck using plastic liners. Got carpet now.

Ultimate Bunk Boards dot com

I have had these on my 24' Mastercraft trailer for several years now and no damage to the gelcoat. Easy load and no more rot or carpet falling off.

Any thoughts, experience, using plastic bunk covers instead of carpet on wood boats? I'm thinking of using 1x4 or 1x6 vinyl boards on a fiberglass bass boat trailer. Installed on top of treated lumber, instead of carpet. Also looking ahead to my barrelback trailer.

What are the advantages of building your own trailer as it seems there are thousands of used ones out there to choose from. I’m inclined to build my own just for the pride of it. But I’d love to hear the “whys and wherefores “ of others who have face this quandary?
