Ahoy from Silver Spring MD

Post by denward » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:33 pm

Worked with my brother, my wife and sons to build the Sweet Caroline in 1984. She is still in great shape, no rot. We run it in the Chesapeake Bay in fair weather. A simple boat for a simple man.

We placed a fiberglass center console and used Morse Teleflex steering and control cables. Rope steering was a nightmare. Powered with a 28 HP Johnson.

The "Mary Katherine" is, after my boys and a great marriage, one of my life's most satisfying accomplishments.

I sure thought I had responded to this post--sorry about the delay! Welcome to our Forum and thank you so much for posting the photos of your beautiful Sweet Caroline! It's so nice to hear that your boat is still being used and loved after all these years. I hope you don't mind if I post a couple of your photos and your comment on our Facebook page. Thanks again and it's nice to meet you!
