Glad to hear you got the plug worked out Bill. don't worry about the offset hinge. In the end it won't make a lot of difference and in fact probably causes more trouble with your mental anguish than it does with the boats performance. I have so many areas on my boat that are less than ideal and every time I start thinking about them, I have to remind myself that it's mostly between my ears where the problem lies.

I managed to get the cabinet shelve in the galley today.

I'm still having house electrical problems. The battery seems to charge ok. But, I unhooked it today and if it goes down again I'll know it's bad. Next in line will be to disconnect the Auto-Charging Relay and maybe eliminate that.

Bill,

If you're using the Blue Sea Systems ACR, it has a significant idle current which will draw your battery down over a few days... I found out the hard way. I pull the fuse on the ground circuit when power is unhooked since I don't have a switch on it yet.

Let me make sure I understand this. what you are saying that if the ACR is not connected to power (and therefore is idle), it still draws a small amount of current and eventually drains the battery? So the solution is to put a switch on the battery to disconnect it when the boat is not being used and the ACR is not powered?

Thanks, I'll pull the ground on the ACR and see if that takes care of it. It's not that big a deal to just switch the master to both to put some charge on the house battery.

By the wiring diagram the ACR cross over is on the hot side of the master. I want the switch on since I rely on the bilge pumps.

Carl,

The ACR is always connected to both batteries and uses an idle current via a fuse on the ground circuit to allow comparison of voltages at the battery terminals. This will cause the batteries to gradually lose charge over a period of time. Adding a switch to the ground lead would solve the problem (it's on my to-do list) but then you have to remember to turn it on or off. For now, I just pull the fuse.

I got the galley shelves in this week. And, I have built the V-berth, it's not finished.

On the other electrical problem! I found it. It's a supplemental power feed for the GPS feed from the chart plotter to the instrument panel. Both seem to work without it. I haven't run the boat yet. But, I have bilge pumps again.

I feel better now.
