As I looked at your pictures I got to thinking about your armrests... Are they accessible enough that when the seats are in you can cut in openings for a little "glove box" area in them? Figure that would be a good space for things like glasses cases, sun screen, phones, keys, koozies, etc! But then again, maybe there isn't any room behind them due to throttle, electrical runs?! Anyway, just a thought/question, you've probably already thought of that!

Three coats of varnish are now complete on the dash and carlings for both cockpits, on to the exposed sections of frames and then armrests

Re: New member from oregon
Working on reassembling the dash post varnish, pretty happy with the look

Re: New member from oregon
Exposed frames sanded and two coats of varnish on, one more coat on the frames then finish the interior work with varnish on the armrests.

Re: New member from oregon
Frames are finished, sanded and applied the first coat of varnish on the armrests tonight, also picked up four sheets of hydrotek to do my subdeck, moving right along.

Re: New member from oregon
The final coat of varnish is complete on the armrests, all interior parts are now UV protected, tonight i cut and test fit the first half of the subdeck, it is not glued down at the moment, it overhangs the dash by 1/2" , the interior edges are 7 3/4" from the outside sheer edge and i used a 4" dia. Circle to round the interior cockpit corners. Coming right along.

Looking sharp. Launch day grows close!
Re: New member from oregon
Starboard rear section of the subdeck test fit and screwed down, traced out the port rear tonight, tomorrow i will cut it out, test fit and screw it down as well, then remove all four sections, encapsulate the bottom sides with epoxy, let that cure then glue and screw them all in place permanently, i left a 1/4" lip all the way around the outside sheer edge to bevel/fair to match the hull.

looks great Josh
Re: New member from oregon
Looks good! I love working on the parts which give the most visual progress. Always feels more rewarding to see big changes.
Re: New member from oregon
I agree, visual progress in large doses is the best. Well done Josh. Bet it's getting harder to go to sleep at night now.

NIce Grain on that plywood - almost seems a shame to cover it with deck planking!

All test fit work, pre-drilling and screwing is completed on the subdeck, today i removed the subdeck, masked off my contact points and rolled on a coat of poxy shield, when that cures i can start permanently attaching the subdeck, moving right along.
