Chicago Belle Isle launch....success!

Postby FFRCOBRA » Mon Aug 07, 2017 10:58 am

It floats! (and cruises nicely too)

Last Friday felt like a November day in Wisconsin. Luckily Saturday warmed up to the upper 70's and perfect sunshine. A great day to launch. As much as my wife wanted to be a part of the first cruise, she also said she didn't want to be around if something went wrong. (she knows me very well). So a few Cobra buddies came up to Wisconsin to help. One even flew up from Orlando just for the boat launch then flew home the next morning. A great friend.

Here we are launching at the public ramp.

Support boat. We ended up dropping it after about 30 minutes and all got in the wood boat.

Back home after a full day on the lake.

The whole day went smoothly. I have some tweaks here or there. But they are only to improve things. Nothing actually needed fixing. Great weather. Great group of guys and the boat was AWESOME!

Thanks for everyone's help through out the years with answers and ideas. I'm just a few weeks from my 5 year anniversary of starting this project.

A lot changes in 5 years. Congratulations, and kudos for sticking with it. It looks to be worth it.

Beautiful Craig and congratulations on a successful launch. I got to go through this with Skip(sscobra) on his Monaco last year and it was a blast to be there for such an event. I am sure that your friends felt the same way. She looks beautiful in the water . Nice way to enjoy the first outing.
