What shaft length is recommended if built to the plans exactly on a 10 ft Squirt? Researching motors now.

A "short shaft" which is typically 15" from top of transom to cavitation plate.

I have an older Johnson, which is a little longer ( before standard short/long shaft lenghts ) and I simply added 1 1/2" to the top of my transom. This is relatively easy to do when you're building your own boat.
