Pondering a quick and dirty Squirt build
As I have a large supply of red cedar I would like to use it for most of the build including 1 1/2" X 3/8" strip planking like a kayak. To be glassed. Power will be a 9.9 Mercury I have and will use the boat only on small rivers and creeks, no wake jumping.
Have build two canoes and one kayak and like the strip process. Also built a house boat and have a nice woodshop. What you think? Don't know why the canoe pix posted twice?

It should work for something that small glassed both sides and heavily reinforced.
IMO it would cost so little to get the right materials and the "quick" part would be realized too.

You build nice looking boats very quickly. Your houseboat is about as nice a houseboat as I've seen. I'd be interested in seeing what the inside looks like.
I can't tell from your picture, but does your doodle-bug have sponsons or extensions out past the transom on each side? I have an old set of plans for a boat titled "Doodle-Bug" that looks similar to what you've built, but it has sponsons extending past the transom. I'm very interested in hearing about the launch and how she performs with the 9.9 Mercury.

The plans for Doodle bug did include sponsons and a deck extension but I didn't build them.
