Wow.... I thought I was having a bad week. Hang in there on the Tahoe.. You'll figure it out. We would really miss the smell of diesel when you fire her up. You can do this !!

I'll put her on the charger in the morning. If that doesn't work, I'll be buying batteries. Bad week. Nothing has worked. I just tried to buy koozies. What a pain!

She lives! Kinda.? I bought a new battery for the Lola boat (Tahoe). The engine fired right up!
The problem now is no cooling water. I didn't make note of how the cooling water pump mounts. It is blind and difficult to reach. It is probably not that bad to do. But I don't know how. My fault! That impeller is only 10 years old!
I guess, I'll be paddling! I've done a few thousand miles!

Check YouTube Bill. They have many videos on how to change impellers on Yanmar marine diesels. Not sure which engine you have, but yours may be there. You Can Do This Captain !!

I'm going to come back next week for one more try. Not enough water is one thing. But, no water doesn't make any sense.
BTW: I think, the old battery was 10 years old. All the print on top of the battery was gone. It was a West Marine 1000 amp.

"No water" could be a failed impeller. Was the boat in the water when you ran it? If it was, and you had no water, most likely the impeller. If it was out of the water, how were you supplying the water to the motor?

It was out of the water with a hose to a "power plunger".

Re: G-12 "Friday Lunch Run To Chattanooga"
I had my boat down to my friends boat repair facility to have a new raw water pump installed (it had a slow leak). They put a hose to the plunger and wedged it up under the hull, turned on the water, and started the motor. It took quite a while before water was coming out of the exhaust. I'm guessing about 45 seconds. When I run it at home, I hook a hose right up to the inlet side of the raw water pump and I get water almost immediately after the motor is started. Maybe you need to wait a little longer.. Just a thought

Bill,
Your more lucky than I am. Normally my troubles don't start till the day I am trying to leave or a day or so before. Good luck, I'm with Matt, would love to see the Tahoe.

I called Blue Water Ships Store this morning. the head mechanic was out, Chris. Chris is out for a few days, his dad died late last week. I'm good with him taking a few days. They called him and he can do the work. They will go pick up the boat.
It's all timing now. I'll go back down the middle of next week, after I talk with Chris.

Sounds promising that we may see a "diesel Tahoe" again at Hales Bar....Very exciting
On another note, I will be updating the list of "lunch boats" and I have to get a rough count of "lunch people" for the restaurant. I think I have a pretty good idea of numbers but I will be putting out a list of names of those I think will be making the run. Everyone,,,, please check my work.. Thanks,,,,Neel

Re: G-12 "Friday Lunch Run To Chattanooga"
This is what I know, what I think I know, and what I don't know about the lunch run on Friday, September 14th. I need to have a fairly accurate number of people going to the restaurant for lunch. So please look at the lists below and help me out if you can. I think the boat count is pretty close, but there may be a Bayliner (Ryan) and a Malahini (Simon) to add to the list. I apologize for any misspelled names. This "Lunch Run" is growing !!! Thanks everyone... Neel
My best guess of those going in boats
Neel, Craig, Ken S, Flor Gentry Room for 0
Paul Kane Hot Rod Room for 1
Bill Edmundson, Lauren Tahoe Room for 3
Butch Barto, Paula, Taylor, Alisha Tahoe Room for 2
Big Dave, Kevin, Raye Rental Room for 2
Jeff Cobb, Melanie Custom Room for 4
Bob Brandenstein, Katie Malahini Room for 2
Matt B, Heather Malahini Room for 2
Bob Makkel, Vicki Sea Knight Room for 1
Jim Jatho, Charles Bell Isle Room for 4
John Amundson, Millie, Adam, Melody Monte Carlo Room for 2
Matt Hood, John (Dad) Geronamo Room for 2
Roberta, Rich Torpedo Room for 0
John Holmes Gentry Room for 1
Tyler Reynolds Jet Squirt Room for 1
This is a list of those I think are going to lunch but not listed above:
Captain Dave and Melissa
Michael (Barnacle Mike) and Dylan
Bryan and Lisa Johnson
Bill J
Perter and Sara Jenkins
Keith McLean
This is a list of those I’m not sure of:
Tom Juring
Mike (Freckles) and wife Lyons
Bob Sorci
Howard and Laura B
Simon and Lisa, possibly with their Malahi
Harry and Mike Dauphinais
Jim Kinsella and Lyda
Ryan and Marta Lash, possibly with their Bayliner
Tom and Carol Cox
Alan Hill
Curt Gard and wife
Ray Macke and Vickie
Barry and Rosemary
