Greg,
Thanks! That is exactly the question. I was planning to leave it about 1" oversized, but did not see detail "M" on the plans. I will look tonight when I get home. I appreciate it.

How is the model coming?

It's finally going again. It had been a while since I was able to put any time in on it, but recently I picked up the Exacto knife again.

I have cut out the cockpit coaming/cabin sides. They are almost ready to glue on. When I get to that point, I will take some pictures and post them.

Glad to hear you have been working on Sweat Pea again. I hope your new job doesn't keep you away from your home port too much.

One other thing I will mention if it helps... I took close-up digital pictures of my plan sheets to use for study. I have each drawing and detail in a separate image so the resolution is fine for study. What's nice is that in the middle of the day, if I think of a question I can look at the plans and see if I can figure it out (without the need to pull out the sheets).

Oops, I called your boat "Sweat Pea" instead of "Sweet Pea".

My appologies, but then again, earlier you were talking about working in the Texas heat. There is probably a good bit of sweat in the pea at this point.

Robert,

Haven't heard from you in a while. How's it going with you build?

Godwin,

Thanks for noticing. I took a new job where I travel about 2 weeks a month. It has been really busy around here. We put our house up for sale as well (trying to get closer to my new office.)

Anyway, I actually did work some more on the boat this afternoon. I basically bored the hole for the centerboard pin, and wet-out the interior of the centerboard trunk. My hope is to to finish the centerboard trunk and hang the frames this week before I go out of town again. Thanks for asking, and I have by know means given up.

I have added 4 news pictures to the photo album. I know it is not a lot of progress for 2 months, but it is progress.

Robert

I am still working on it. I think I might have the record for the longest Minuet build.

I currently have the frames positioned on the strongback and have finished the centerboard trunk fiberglassing. Hopefully, the CB trunk will be fastened to frame #3 & 4 before the end of the weekend. New pictures coming shortly.

Any other Minuet/Sailboat builders making any progress? I would love to be inspired.

Robert

Robert,

At risk for being razzed for not having any pictures yet, I wanted you, Greg Godwin, and Rational Root to know that there is at least one more build taking place. I am building a Glen-L 14. I have all of the frames cut and glued, including the transom. I am embarrassed to take pictures, because my work is "rough". I made the decision early on to paint, so I am not real worried about exact neatness. I will cover a lot of "sins" in sanding, resin, and paint. That is not to say, however, that I will accept sloppy work from myself. It is just not "picture ready" yet. I plan to go out today and purchase the materials for the setup frame. I am still deciding how to put in the bottom floor piece on the setup frame, because I don't want to put holes in my garage floor. I am also still trying to decide if I want the setup fram on castors like some others have done.

Anyway, just to let you know there is another build going on.

Steve Henry
I am in Kansas City, Kansas, as is Greg Godwin.

So, Steve Henry :!:

Let's see the Pictures :!:

I'm just asking for JOHN :!:

BTW: I work to you're rules. If it's not pretty, It's functional. It doesn't always have to be perfect. I try. But, if it's not, that's OK.

Bill

Hi Robert,
I clicked on your Yahoo photo page (from my "favorites") and see that you removed them. Haven't heard from ya for awhile. Can ya post this new Snapfish site? (That's the site your old Yahoo says you went.)

Hope all is well with ya.

John,

Thanks for checking in. I am currently living with my in-laws while we remodel our new house. I have been spending all my time working on the house. We plan to move in by the end of July, so hopefully work will begin again then. Between moving and having a son on the way I am not sure when Sweet Pea will actually be finished. However, I am not giving up!!!

I cannot find my snapfish album right now. It was there just the other day. DANG IT! I will keep looking and see if I can come up with anything.

Robert

WOOOO HOOOOO!

I started working on the boat again last night. I got my three week old son to sleep and was able to spend a whole 45 minutes working on the boat. I begin setting up the form again (after our move). I would imagine I am about 2 hours out of being where I was 10 months ago when we moved.

My old Yahoo Photos album never transferred to Snapfish like it was supposed to. So, I have a new photo album coming soon!
