Hi!
I am looking for a used set (two books) of this title to buy. Preferably the English editions.

I found a set at Wooden Boat Magazine, at their web store for US$ 195.00 which is a fair price for us in Sweden - the US$ has lost about 30% in value lateley compared to our currency so everything we buy in the US have become 30% cheaper.

Still a lot of money fpr two books so I really hope that these are as good/nice as people say...

Nice Xmas gift to myself ;-)
Cheers!
/Rikard

I think you have a good deal.
Most places in Europe, you'll have to buy the same in Euro's.

I also been thinking about buying this, but it's the price the kept me away from doing it.

Regards,

Martien.

Just noticed the mention of Wooden Boat Magazine, does anyone here subscribe? Family have been asking me for ideas for Xmas gifts, apparently I'm really difficult to buy for as my tastes are very specific!
One thing I suggested is a subscription to WBM, 1, 2 or even 3 years depending how much they like me....
I've never actually read a copy but it looks very good, I bought my Acorn Skiff plans from them as it was considerably cheaper to buy from the US, thanx again to the weak Dollar. Anyone have any opinions on the mag, is it as good as it looks, what is the typical content of an issue?

Yes Graham, do get a subscription to the wooden boat magazine. You will enjoy it, and the price (xmas gift) is defintely right.

Graham,

Woodenboat Magazine is a beautiful magazine--similar to Water Craft magazine that you have in the UK. We have advertised in WB for many, many years and it gives us the best results. Enjoy!

I picked up a copy of woodenboat in an airport shop in France during the summer. (August ). There are quite a lot of ads in it, but at least they are relevant to boating. Its 150 pages, 20 or 30 of those are pure adverts. But the articles in between make up for it. They are about 2 or 3 articles on boats with construction pics. Theres an article on steam-bending, an article about the history of racing hydroplanes, how to make a woodworking vise and its full of good colour photos and illustrations.
Now would be a good time to subscribe!! $43 per year works out at 32 euro right now. So why haven't I subscribed??? My credit card is maxed out! :o
