I went to visit these guys in central coast a handful of months ago and I recently saw on their site that they do a conversion to a boat installing a new jetdrive on an old boat. It seems like a decent how-to for anyone taking a typical inboard setup and running a jet.(like me!)

To give them credit, it's jetboatperformance.com

Just food for thought. There are more photos within the link. These guys have been doing this sort of thing for 35 years.... Whenever I speak with them they're very informative and I plan on picking up a rebuilt Berkeley from them with an impeller cut for my engine application.

And I thought My jet-ski pump stuck out the back of the transome.

That pump r-e-a-l-l-y hangs out their, almost to the point of ugly.

I would have to put a step-platform over that thing.

The fins on either side of the intake is a thought.

That is an interesting site - I'm really amazed at the length the pump hangs out the back of the boat. In comparison to the SeaDoo jet boats it is a completely different set up.

I know that pump sticks out from the back of the boat quite a bit but you must realize that this guy is going for ultimate speed. The less of the boat you have in the water, the less friction and therefore more speed!
I simply threw it up here because I think that a visual acount would help those of us that are attempting the hybrid boat... the best of the old coupled with the advantages of a jet.

Ciao
