They are the old Chrysler motors repackaged and sold through Bayliner

Novass,

I have never owned a Force outboard myself, but it makes me think of the old add we joke about here in Texas. It sounds something like this:

"For Sale: 1996 19' Bayliner w/ Dual Axle EasyTilt Trailer, Force 150 Outboard, etc....
Price: $7,500 with Force Motor
$10,500 without Force Motor"

Again, this is only hearsay, but the people in my fishing groups won't touch a boat with a Force. I will ask around and see if the "joke" is linked only related to specific years.

Robert

I kind of agree with razopp.
I dont have any real experience with them but if they were any good there would be more of them around. Something about taking an old design motor and putting a new cowl on just seems like the cheap and easy way out, and that usually is not good

A friend of mine had a Force in a Bayliner. It had basically an Outboard head on a I/O lower unit. Nothing but problems.

I made a couple of posts on other fishing sites, and the concensus is "RUN, Don't walk away" from any Force...

I heard it was named "Farce" originally because it only imititated a marine motor, and a marketing guy renamed it Force.
