I am experiencing some vibration from the shaft/propeller. I am quite sure that it is within normal limits. I am using a new Acme prop, the shaft has been checked for trueness, and the shaft/trans connection is perfect. I am using the $12 strut bearing and am wondering if the more expensive rubber bearing{$70} would make a noticable difference. I am also considering the R and D flexible shaft coupling. Anyone have any experience/opinions?Also,how difficult would it be to change the strut bearing myself? I do not have a special tool for this and would have to make one if anybody knows how. Thanks!

Check your prop closely for any signs of pitting. That would be cavitation. Cavitation will cause vibration.
