Hi All,

I have not posted an update in a while. I've had a lot of slowdown in 2007 causing me to miss ~ 5 months of boatbuilding

However - I'm finally in the home stretch and making very good progress.

I've finished all of the hull varnish work, repainting the caulking lines, etc. Recently I have mounted a significant amount of the deck hardware and I've just finished 100% of the wiring.

Looking for a spring shakedown cruise and launch.

Thanks! I wish I had a wider angle lens so I could get the entire boat in the pic at once. I just hope it looks right in full direct sunlight. Hard to tell in shop lighting what you are going to get (I need to upgrade to color balanced bulbs).

Is there an east coast Glen-L type gathering? I'd love to go - but trailering across the country could be tough

I'll be better about posting updates - this year I had plenty of work to do, but very little VISIBLE progress (ie. multiple varnish coats and sanding, yuk..)

Your project will look even better out in the sun. The shop flourecscent lights show up more imperfections than natural light. If it looks good under flouroecscent lights, it will look dazzling outside.

A small update -

The cutwater is completed -
We moved the boat back onto it's trailer this past weekend - and I finally got a full picture (from the shop roof) in the daylight.

Here are a few more - I put the front of the boat in a sling supported by the garage door and a 10,000lb tow strap and eye bolts through the header. The rear of the boat was supported by a hand crank fork lift.

Having the boat suspended is a bit scary - but it was fine.

Got'ta love that view from the roof top!! Vary nice, Damn Nice there Bob. Hope to see her at the Gathering come October! That cutwater sure sets the bow of.

I used Mike (cutwaters.com). He did a very good job. It is an expensive hunk of stainless to say the least - but you can't tell it that it was cut, welded, ground and polished. It just looks like it was magically formed.

However - cutwater installation is tricky. I learned the hard way (or at least the do it 3 times way...) You really need to get it fitting as snugly as possible by flexing the sides inward and outward before screwing it down. It wants to constantly change shape as the screws go in..

It looks good from a roof top - and it passes the 6' test. There are plenty of blunders that I wish I had back. Finish work has always been my weakest skill.
