Boat Info:
Stiffened bottom. Cockpit/open hybrid. Two year build time.
25hp Two Stroke Mercury with a 10.125x13 alum prop.
GPS Speeds
All figures are with full fuel. (or close) Adults around 180lbs.
One adult 33.2mph
Two adults 32mph
Estimated Speeds
4 adults, two dogs, 50lbs of camping gear in the bow 22mph

I like the look of a deck but is not practical for Alaska. What I did is a combination an open skiff and a deck. It helps with the lines of the boat, but keeps it practical for coming up on beaches. This photo shows it better. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u15/ ... oattop.jpg I spent a lot of time on the bottom getting the planing surface flat. There is also added structure to keep it that way. I have my eye on a stainless 15" pitch prop and some boyseen reeds. Hoping to hit 40mph

Craig, that is a cool modification. Good luck with your 40mph mark! I am trying to get to that mark also.
