When I bought my boat the previous owner had installed a 48 volt; 50hp DC motor- belted to the shaft. It turned the prop. on that big beast of a boat. I just don't have the batteries to keep it fed. I'm removing it to install a 40hp diesel. If you want it you can have it. You pay to ship it. It's yours.

Aloha,

Gregg

Greg,

What would the weight of a 50 HP DC motor be?

Depending on if it's copper wound or aluminum wound, you might be better off selling it for scrap.

Brian,

I haven't disconnected it yet; so I don't know. However The guy who sold me the boat bought it for $1,200.00. new. I don't want to just throw it away.

Ok, Stealing threads is one thing but where you guys have taken this one; whew boy

Steve I'm sure it could, I'm sure it would have pushed the

Rosekey- G. too, just slow with a lot of battery charging.
If you want it you can have it.

I guess; but, I'd rather give it to one of you guys who would use it on a boat.
Like I said it turns the shaft on my 30' pig of a boat. it would move you're tug better than those trolling motors do.

I was trying to get it off the plate it's bolted to, today. I'd guess between 5 and 10 lbs.
