I've recently moved to a house near water so I may as well make use of it by building a boat. The one that looks idea for me (to build and store) and my son (to use) is the Minimaxed. But I was wondering about the possibility of fitting an electric outboard to it.
Has it been done? Can it be done? If so, what motor? As a complete newcomer to boating any advice would be appreciated. :)

Welcome Buttered cat.

I don't see a reason that you couldn't use an electric motor on a MiniMax,how ever, you won't get any performance out of it ...just a nice boat ride.

This would probably be the best performance from electric, but they are pricey:

You can always upgrade to a small gas engine later.

Check out this site too for info on Minimax:

Have fun
