Might I suggest Saturday morning breakfast up at the lodge? They have a WONDERFULL buffet there on the weekends. Usually not too crowded, fantastic setting, newly remodled, great view, no weather considerations, reasonable cost. Hot grits and ham, waffles and pancakes made to order, eggs, or whatever sure beats trying to boil coffee over a Coleman in a stiff breeze any day.

They also serve brunch on Sunday, which might get started too late for most who will be departing early but that's also something to keep in mind.

Krugwaffle,

The lodge breakfast, which was not an option last year, is why I said a coffee pot, some pastries and maybe some fruit at the pavilion. But, for those who want a big breakfast you can't beat the lodge.

Thanks for the input. I know you and your family are at Guntersville every year.

Bill

Kathy and I will leave you all to battle for top chili honors on Saturday night. Instead we'll bring several batches of cornbread to soak up the juices with.

Hello all. Just saw that we will be having a chili cookoff Saturday. I will be attending the Gathering on Saturday and to do my part I will provide some Lodge Cast Iron cookware to be given away to the winner/winners of the cookoff. Look forward to meeting you all, seeking motivation to build my boat and have some questions answered.

I don't want to get in the middle, BUT, I would buy, say 5 lbs. of sausage for breakfast, just to help somebody out...They won't let be bring my BBQ. as carry-on on the plane, but I will help with the cost.....Dwain, the Ski King......

Dwain...

Saaaaaaaaauuuuuuuusage Kiiiiiinnnnggg.

Thanks!!! That sounds like the foundation for the long-awaited Saturday breakfast.

Mr Hot Rod and I are bringing all the required breakfast cooking gear for our Sunday breakfast commitment. The Saturday breakfast crew is welcome to use all that.

So... Saturday Breakfast is a great way to contribute for those who are "travelling light", and don't feel they can cook in the Friday BBQ or Saturday Chili extravaganzas.

We'll just need a volunteer or two to pick up things like OJ, pastries, pancake mix, eggs, or whatever, and take their turn at the griddle.
