Best Gathering todate ! Thank you for your hospitality, friendship and support during our launch. We're finally out of the Parking lot !

I'd like to thank the following people :

 Bruce Dow for a beautiful ride on the Tennesee River en route to the Delta Queen. Here's a link to the video :

Tenessee River Run in Bruce Dow's Monaco

Also masterminded the temporary seat webbing for the passenger seat. Assisted by his Dad (Brian) and Nik. Thanks guys !

Image

 upspirate (Warren) for assisting us on our Friday night startup.

Image

 Bill Edmunson for hosting the awards, lending me a boat fender (I left mine at home in the
last minute rush to pack) and promoting the maple syrup sales to finance the fuel for our return trip.
We were sold out in 5 minutes. We'll have to increase our import volumes next year !

 Lauren Edmunson for capturing our first running shot on Saturday. She went to town to
process and frame our Launch portrait, missing several hours of boating action.

Image

 Mark and Lori Chadwick (the new Canucks) for providing the extra cookstoves and manning our bacon
assembly line. It was a pleasure to work with a fellow snowmobiler. We appreciated the help !

 Ski King (Dwain Colton). We unanimously agreed to grant honorary Canadian citizenship to Dwain when we he showed up with more breakfast vittles to feed the 'late' crowd. Also provided thrills for anybody brave enough to go with him and was also our photographer's official chase boat. We couldn't have gotten many or our shots without you - THANKS!!! We also had a great run on the lake Sunday afternoon.

Image

 CyberNick (Nik Vassilev) for snapping a ton of photos and preparing and presenting a great slide show on Saturday night. He also did all the driving (~ 2400 mi).

 Our chief mechanic, Colin for lending me (and rebuilding) a stout engine block.

 Gayle, John and Allyn for making the trip. I learnt that Gayle has a serious Need for Speed ...

Image

 Glen Witt for a great set of plans and indispensable reference books. It's a sweet handling boat !

 And for those of you that need a v-drive whine fix, here's a link to our test run :

Glen L Hot Rod Sea Trial

Did Gayles hair blow off or is she the one driving?

It was so tangled after riding with me, she gave up and tied it in knot.

Yes, I learned last year that it's not a good idea to let the wind fly through my hair! Ouch!

NOW that is a good idea. :!: Glen-l showing up at a gathering with a Glen-l boat. Very cool...of course the distance they are from the suggested locations would make for a very long haul.

I resourced my Trip Report post and uploaded it to our website's Gathering Page. Just had to get in one more run before the temps start dropping, so we ran on the Ottawa River last Sunday. The video should provide the gear heads out there (you know who you are  ) with enough v-drive whine to get you through the Winter months.

Gathering 2009

Heads Up to Dave, you better check it out ...

We'll post more Gathering photos as soon as we get them organized !

Hey, Paul.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't see the Ottawa River video. I see the frame for it, but it does not load.

is it out on YouTube somewhere?

B.

Hi Bruce,

Noticed a few missing tags ... Please let me know if you can't render it.

This is a huge HD video (1.4 GB). Took 4 1/2 hours to upload ! It's up on YouTube - enter Search Term chelseacoachworks.

Warren, glad you enjoyed the whine

Thanks, Paul.

I found it on YouTube.

1) I was particularly impressed by the paddle and dock bumper you were carrying.
2) What are the performance stats? How many RPM did you turn? What speed did you manage?
