It was a program about the Meresk Emma and they mentioned the ship's hull was Ceramic coated.
Then went on to say how much fuel it saved etc...
I got to wondering if anybody on the forum knew about Ceramic coating?
I never heard of it for boats.
Is is available for small boats?
Wood?

Or is it one of those things only the giant ship builders can afford? :!:

The only ceramic coating I'm familiar with is for exhaust systems and headers.

The ones I had coated were heated I believe and shot with an aluminum/ceramic coating and then baked if I remember correctly....that was back in about 1987...memory is a little foggy. They had a rough sandy texture.

i have a set of factory coated jet-Hot coated headers in the garage that are very smooth, and that almost look like chrome ,but I think the process involves high heat and won't work for wood.
