TINTIN'' i building a TITAN 21'6'' aluminium tug at sydney AUSTRALIA
my trade is a pressure vessel welder and boats constructor alloys
i will suggest to look at KEMPI MINIARC ADAPTIVE 180 in automatic mode
it will be more easy to control the weld on aluminium plus the weight
total 9,8kg +2,5kg filler wire up to 5mm alu 0r 6mm with prep

regards CARLOS

Thanks Carlos - $2100,00 pretty expensive - have you ever tried the dhc 2000? I have done the coded welder for pressure vessel coarse - I have one now and its okay - I have a WIA 175 and the tech guys are seeing if it is compatable with a push pull Binzl gun - $2200.00. Cheers for ur input going to check out what style of boat ur building. Im in West Aus, See you.

Cool boat Carlos - a lot of work Inote the sizes what would your thoughts be to construct a boat of 2.5 mm bottom plate, 2 mm sides and top - really difficult to weld with mig (have tried) now in the process of using the DHC 2000 - which as long as there is limited gaps welds fine. With your background do you think 2mm bottom plating with 40 x 25 x 2.0 mm framing and c channel for the longitudinal stringers 12 x 20 x 2.5 would fair - the C channel shape re3ally well. Cheers Gavin

Hello Naserrishehri, Where would you get that information from to evaluate the results? Cheers for the response I am building a Crackerbox and are well underway with the fabrication of the frames - all is progressing as would expect - 2 steps forward 1 step backwards.. I will google hydrostatics and see how I go. Regards Gavin
