and then i made the butt blocks and epoxied, and screwed the panels together. after that, i set the bottom panels up on sawhorses. i made the temporary form to hold the sides out and i stretched the panels around the sides.

i then made the motorwell sides and attached them. i then had to curve the stern arc around the back, it was a little difficult because i used 5/8" for the bottom, the curve was different so i had to trim the stern arc a little.

i then had to attach boards to the bottom which will support the decking. it is 5/8" plywood with 1/3" douglas fir on top.

then was the time to fillet the seams

here is it with the 3/8" mahogany decking on it. i still have to add some bracing between the 1x3 and the sides of the boat

and once i epoxy and screw the decking down, i have to add the bulwarks and transom.

Blake,
Welcome home. Now with Spring right around the corner you need to step it up so we can see her on the water this Summer. You are doing a great job and as leakcheck said, keep us posted. These guys tend to get restless if they don't get their fair dose of update photos.

I wondered how you were coming with it. I remember when you said you ordered the plans, as that is the tug I would love to build.

It is really looking good! Keep us posted on your progress.

The Tug is looking real good. It's nice to see someone building. I too have been wanting to see this boat built. Fine job.

More progress. :D Neat idea with the built in dolly. As I have told you before I am interested in maybe building an 18' version one day. Still trying to figure the material difference, like how many sheets of plywood for the bottom. I don't want to order plans untill I know which lenght I want to build. What is the lenght of the bottom of yours?

i think the bottom is a little over 15' but i will measure it tomorrow. for the 18' i would assume that you will need to buy another sheet for the bottom and an extra sheet for the sides. if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Looks nice. Glad to have you share the pics. This is one of my planned future builds. Now I have a reference.

Thanks, Blake

I'm trying to decide if the extra 2' is worth it. Something tells me the 18' version has a lot more wasted plywood. But, there again if there is enough left over plywood I could build :?: maybe :?: or maybe :?: :D
