I received the following email from a builder today and since he's not on the Forum, he said it was okay to post it:

Gayle, Just wanted to let you know that I got some very good prices on Okoume BS1088 Plywood from Noahs Marine. Web site is www.noahsmarine.com. They are in Toronto, Ontario Province, Canada. They ship by truck at I guess a reasoable price. 3/8" Okoume BS1088 A/B is $72.50/ sheet ( if you buy 10 sheets you get 1 free as a discount) 1/4" is $55.00/sheet and 5/8" is $112.00/sheet. There were discounts on the 1/4" and 5/8" as well but ir was not as good since I ordered less than 10 sheets. Order Processing and Shipping only took a week from Canada to Huntsville, AL. I was able to get 3/4" Marine Douglas Fir A/B (for my transom) locally at $82.50/sheet but I could not get the other sizes, so I went internet shopping.
Love the newsletter.

I was on Noah's site yesterday.

Two points....NovaSS pointed out to me that there is a USA site/location and a Canadian location...may make a difference in shipping and clearing customs.

Also,I thought they had been a dealer for Glen-L and sold plans/frame kits in the past, but I saw no Glen-L stuff on their web site.

If they are still a dealer, you might want to check on this Gayle

I know that they still have some old Glen-L books and catalogs on their bookshelf at the front of the shop.

I was speaking to the owner last year. He has an 8-Ball that he built about 20+ years ago, and which he still loves.

Mark Anderson (Son got a soaking in the Hydroplane) and I almost had him talked into coming to last year's Gathering.

The last time I was there, about 2 years ago, they had some Glen-L stuff in their "showroom". I cant say for sure if they still do. No problem Gayle, just trying to help out.

BTW for our ontario canada members I was looking at Noahs lately for lumber prices and to be more exact the price per board ft for White Ash. If I remember correctly it was $6 per BF. I then took a road trip to Peterbough and visited Monahan Lumber. To make a long story short their price for white ash was in the neighbourhood of $2 per BF. I think if your in the area they might be worth a call. They also sell Marine ply. I did write the prices for that down but I cant find it. I believe they were competive with Noahs BUT you'd have to varify that. I will say they do have a domestic 3/4" marine ply that is in the $80 buck range (I think its doug fir) Just thought I would pass this along.
