I am restoring a 1956 Homebuilt boat, I stripped and sanded the deck and refilled alot of the screw holes.
I stained and sealed the deck, and have to decide what to do with a problem... The wood filler that I replaced and added left a shinny ring around the filled holes that were not sanded hard, after the Sealer they can still be seen, I think that the wood filler filled the pores in the mahogany making the shiny rings, oops.. I am wondering that if I completely fill all grain pores with Varnish if these will go away???
Should I have used a filler stain?
Thanks in advance for your help
