Let's try to talk about different travel plans here. I'll try to move earlier post. This will keep the other thread cleaner and it will be easier to keep up with who is coming.

I plan on hooking the boat trailer to the back of the van, putting the key in, starting the engine and putting it in "Drive."

I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist that. Miss Connie can sure feel your pain.

Shame on you Dave, you forgot your seatbelt

Now back to regularly scheduled programming.

My reservations have me arriving Friday afternoon after an all day drive from Branson. I think we can create ourselves a convoy from the group in these parts.

However, if I can talk the "wiser and better" half into it, I really am planning on heading out Tuesday with a stop over in Tennessee and then down to the lake on Wednesday morning. I will be coming down thru Nashville. Perhaps the convoy can pick up Dave G in the process.

Did I tell you we finally settled the matter in my home about who wears the pants? My wife finally got down on her knees. Yessirreeee, that is a true story. That was when she yelled under the bed to me to come out and fight like a man????

Butch

Sometimes they are hard to get thru to. I think if the weather is bad they go home in the winter. I don't blame them. When I scoped the place there was a little snow around the place was dead quiet.

I will be coming in from Pa on Friday - if I can convince me wife to get in the car around 2am we should be there 'round about 2 pm. I guess I will a have a poster of my boat as I have not begun my build yet (hopefully next month though) and my wife keeps surprising me with her enthusiasm, I am now allowed to put a temporary addition on my garage to allow enough room for our build. Glad to see I am not the only one who hides under the bed -rofl

I am in the process of shopping for a packaged deal flght hotel and car. What is close to Nickajack Airport & hotel. My wife is coming too. Help I have to nail this down soon before they make up the Sept schedule. Bill Huntsville is 160 miles away and even with Gps I get lost. Is that the best way to go. It is going to to take me 1/2 a day just to get there.

Id fly into Nashville on Southwest and drive down. Its about 110 miles from Nashville straight down I-24. Chattanooga is closer but has limited airline service.

There are several hotels in Jasper TN right off I-24. I'll look a little more later.

I'm draggin' the boat with me...hopefully I have the trailer ready by then or I'll really be testing the durability of the SuperMarine bottom paint.

Dave, looks like my part of the convoy will be a day ahead of you. I'm looking at Tuesday the 21st and return on Tuesday the 27th.

Unless you just happen to find a good airfare to Nashville, I'd try Atlanta more than Nashville.
For all practical purposes, Hales Bar is Chattenooga. The I-24 exit is barely outside the city limits.
Atlanta is as close to Chattenooga as is Nashville (by driving times) and Atlanta has unlimited airline hookups.

Excellent point KenS

Sometimes I forget how northern Atlanta really is.
