Ya'll keep talking like that and I will be leaving Midnight home. She doesn't hold a candle to other builds. Trust me. Rod - you haven't seen my kayak have you.

And in answer to your question about how I did it. Only by the grace of God.

Guys,
I am one of the unlucky ones that won't be making the Gathering, but I did want to take a moment and wish everyone a safe trip.

Pirate,
Don't worry the forum will be in good hands with Rod and me.

I build the same clock years ago - Woodcraft plans! The original plans had parts that were wrong as I remember. I worked for Woodcraft part time then, and reported the issues. They did correct them a few years later.

I got the plans as an excuse to buy a lathe so that I could learn turning.. I made 9 of the spindles to get 4 I liked.
Good job!

That clock isn't wood craft plans it was not a kit at all that is my design I have the orginal blue prints I drew up to build it. it was based on a museam piece wood craft wasn't around when that clock was built   :? the spindle on my clock are made in 4 pieces each and all was free handed turned the size in diamiter made it impossable to turn and not have it come flying apart on me. It is made for rough cut walnut at a cost of 3.00 abf and it has a hand rubbed oil finish using Watco oil a mouth ago it got its 50th coating of oil more our less in the early 70's I was offered 5,000 for the clock
