Agreed, but there are few of us, and considerable distances to travel over here so it would have to be something worth while. If we chose Lake Eildon, for example, for me if would be 1772.7km Time: 19hr 50min (approx) to get there.

That's a pretty significant trip and others would be worse off. Anyhow, we will see what falls out the bottom. :)

Jeruselum Creek looks pretty neat, perhaps a few too many "house boaters" ? the glint of mahogany and polished stainless should sort them out though......

I think the gathering idea is a great one, love the thought of mixing it with similar minds - wood, fuel & a passion for the look of classic perfection.
Do we know how many Glen-L builds are being carried out on the eastern seaboard or the whole country for that matter. More importantly how many builds are finished, floating and therefore ready, or able, to roll on down to somewhere wonderfull like Jeruselum Creek ?. I'm not sure how but an Aussie list of Glen-L builders would be a great thing to create.

I should add that my Monaco..... love that boat, will not be finished until around may 2011.

just a thought but are there any rivers in Aussie that would be suitable instead of a lake?

Anybody heard of the Gippsland Lakes?
The largest lake system in Australia, and Paynesville is known as the boating capital of Auustralia.

If you come, you'll keep coming!

Well gidday Steve.....I can tell ya that a "beak" is a nose mate. A "sticky beak" is the term used down ear for a bloke who wants to have a perv at something that belongs to some other bloke, you know, "stick is nose in". Everyone's fine with that, It's sweet.
That should clear it up for ya, clear as a bell mate :)

Not sure what ya mean about us talkin funny though.......

On the other subject, I don't think we have quite as many lakes here but there is certainly no shortage of them - Lake Macquarie or even the Kepit Dam near Tamworth NSW are a couple more options. We'll keep chucking a few ideas around down here and ultimately find the right spot (I mean venue) for a gathering.

Dave Gason made the comment. That someone just needs to say this is where I'm going.

Talk about food and they will come :!:

I might see if I can start a poll for Aussie builds. Might give us a running total.

Nope, but then I am an ex-Kiwi, and haven't travelled much.

The idea of this thread was to get an initial estimation of how many would come (people and boats) and get ideas so we could find a suitable place. It will happen....

To all Aussies,

I have been checking out the Great Lakes in northern NSW and it looks unreal!
Plenty of diffent lakes that go on forever some are salt and some fresh water.
have been checking out accomodation (There are so many lakes and areas to check).
Going to keep looking to see if i can find any floating cabins or accomodation with private moorings.

Jamie
