What to do, as I am writing this the epoxy is setting up I push the spot in with the brush and it wets out but won't lay down. If it dries like this do I cut out the spot and just build up epoxy in this area and level it out?

I think as soon as it is not tacky. Cut it out and sand the edges. It can be pulled off. Patch it quick. Then when that is not tacky sand and feather the edges. Put 2 or 3 fill coats of epoxy and start sanding.

Well it is still pretty tacky but thickening up with the temp in the 60's it is being slow. I can push it down with the brush handle and some of it sticks down but like you said bill I'll have to cut it out and patch it in. It should be dry in the morning to patch and roll a coat on the entire hull. Thanks..

If it is still wet enough maybe put some wax paper on top and use whatever you can to push something like a piece of ply against it until it sets.

Yea I thought about something like that but their is a couple of really thick strands running length ways through that mess that will not go clear no mater what. So they would show up white when dry anyway.

if when you cut out the patch and blend the raw edge your chances of having an invisible repair are better if you use a scraper to cut down the difference as you do not rough up the cloth edge as much and cause it to become "white"
