I'd have to assume that most builders know about this but just in case.
If your'e purchasing sanding discs from the big box stores your'e paying way too much. Go to an automotive body shop supply chain and purchase them in a roll of 100.
If your sander is a Porter. Black and Decker, or DeWalt and is 5" and came with the hook and loop, get one of Porter's or Black and Decker no 13901 5" psa (pressure sensitive adhesive ) pads for less than $20 and change over. You'll need a torx bit for this. The discs are much cheaper that the hook and loop.

you can also try Klingspore abrasives. They make great products and are the cheapest I have found. look for them online

Not me. Thanks for posting it. I have a Makita and live ibn Australia, hopefully I can find equivalents, hadn't thought to look. :D

Thanks for the heads up! I've always bought mine from Home Depot and they do seem too over-priced. I own a Dewalt random orbit sander so I'll be checking out the automotive stores next time around.
