Ok I hooked up my battery to my 25 hp mercury outboard with electric start and hooked the wiring harness to the boat to test some lights and noticed I had 2 wires touching, and nothing seemed to work, thinking I blew a fuse the only fuses I know of are the inline fuses between the radio and lights, those are fine, I hooked the battery directly to the boat wiring after the ignition and all the electronics in the boat work fine. The boat does have a kill switch so I checked that, my question is, is there another fuse somewhere? Maybe in the engine? I have nothing when hooking battery threw the engine.????

The 25 Merc's have an in-line fuse under the cowl.

The diagram should help you locate it.

Ok I found a fuse holder it was mounted to the back near the plugs, I opened it up and the fuse came apart, now I have both halves stuck in the holder. Does this sound like the right one? The fuse holder looks to be coming off the wire harness inside the cowl. :? :?

Yes when I pulled the fuse holder apart the glass piece on the fuse came off and left the metal end in the other half, I put some wd40 in to get it loose.

Don't forget to carry at least one extra fuse with you when it's done! 8)
