I have a minor issue. I've been talking to alot of these motor guys and I'm finding out that If I want I can accumulate many older motors if I want. I'm having trouble seeing some of these motors and passing them up. I think I just might be addicted to these old outboards. Any one else with this problem?
Do your so called friends keep sending you pictures of old boats and motors that are just awwwsome!?

Travis

I think I'm stuck with rebuilding/owning/finding/keeping them too.
I finally needed some money to go to the last gathering so I sold my little evinrude, but still have three all by themselves and and a Bass boat with an 85. I dont know why either.

Well now wait a minit here. That old square 5.5 Evinrude is a good project motor. I'm going to convert it to a Single hose. I'd never done that before and am interested for that reason.
All my other motors are ready to go except for not being used in a long time.

We tinkerers have to have our toys. I've been thinking about scrounging for parts and building an old Merc race engine for that Super Spartan. But I need to finish the Zip first.

Thanks pirate.
Without knowing it, I traded away at least three of the fuel pumps I needed for this little motor.
So now I'm on the hunt again for one of the Block mounted pumps before 69. :P

Stop fooling around with those little electric heaters. Pick up a used pellet stove and run the vent out through the window. After you finish the boat you can turn the shed into a sauna.
As far as the outboards are concerned. You just have to build a boat for each of them. Yikes!! I have 2 7.5 hp Eskas, a 1965 10, a 1957 18, a 1953 25 and two 85 Johnsons, a 69 and a 70. The there are the 35, 55, and 65 Evinrudes and the 40 Gale. I might be building outboard boats for the next fifteen years. That is after I finish the Jet Squirt. I wonder if I should pick up the 1955 Evinrude 25 someone offered.

Here's a little of an update for pictures trying to put this Zip together. Installing the fiberglass mat and wetting out.
