Hi Wayne,

The model number is 40-0918. I found the unit easy to work with. It's not an impact resistant one, designed for a construction site, but I just needed a straight red line and it gave me that.

Here's a link with a product description:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... i_13736960

I lined it up so that the two waterline marks on the form and the two corresponding marks on the motorwell sides were all level and then I let it spin and went along drawing reference dots all around. Wear the fashionable glasses. You don't want your eyesight zapped. After that it was join the dots-time.

Having the waterline clearly marked was really useful this week as I was installing the V-berth supports and will be good later on when it's bulkhead time.

Good luck,

Richard

NP Wayne,

I enjoyed building the deck. It get's a little tedious when you're filleting and fibreglassing underneath, but the feeling is great at the end when you admire the result. :D

I went back to the carlings and deck to install the clamp that'll support the bulkheads of the cabin (the recommended Glen-L method for preventing water leakage into the cabin). I used 37 clamps, in case you were wondering.

Down below I put in the supports to the V-berth, which I hope to complete next weekend.

It looks like flip day will be Feb 19th.

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks George.

The v-berth is filleted, fibreglassed, encapsulated and done (well the fixed part anyway). The slightly fuzzy pic below is perhaps appropriate, since the felt cover on the plywood is fuzzy too.

A pic of the aft stand with wheels, as I get ready for flip day next week, Saturday. I have a dozen or so volunteers coming for pizza, beer and a flip.

I considered you in an emergency, Bruce, in case I didn't have enough people. I'll have to do the back flip at some point, though, so maybe then?

Richard.

Well, you know, it's a boat for little people. :D

Nah, that's the fixed part of the berth. It's 5' deep and 6' wide in the pic.

The removable extension will add another 2' in depth. Once I've built the cabinets, they'll give me the support and measurements to add the removable berth extension part.

Cool, when you flip, give me a PM if you need extra help

That boat'll be great for these waters....at least down here with all the little bays & islands and up there with the shallow water
