Guys,
I did a search for bottom paint and I guess it came up with too many results. So I'm doing the next best thing. :D I'm asking for help.

Here is what I'm looking for: A paint that is easy to apply, looks decent and most important is durable. The pontoon will be stored on a trailer and used in freshwater.

What are you doing up at 2am? Are you that addicted?

Few things in the world measure up to the thrill and satisfaction of boating in a boat that you built.

The latest is that he is exempted from sleeping in the doghouse outside if he works on her boat. If she only knew that he was not working on her boat though.
As far paint, use the toughest primer known to the industry right now and that is Interprotect 2000E and easy to apply and recoat. Do it once and forget it. Then just apply either hard and non ablative bottom paint, since this is easy to touch up right to the chines and then paint your topcoat on the rest of the sides. If you have an issue with scumming along the sides, do the same up to the waterline. This is afterall and multi duty boat, correct?

Homework.

Thanks Oyster,
I have done a little reading on the Interprotect and I will look into it some more. Now that I have the primer figured out I need to post a question about what kind of bottom paint to use.   :P

Make sure you use a full face mask with fresh air being pumped in to it when you use the interprotect. that stuff will kill you. thats probably why it works so well. Its what I used.

Ultra from Interlux, second Bottomcoate, If you have west marine around, the Bottomshield works okay for me. If you want to just use an enamel, Rustoleum for my dollars. Just let it cure completely.
