Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Building Gentry.
I lucked out having a great Wife that bought me a staple remover at a local supermarket called Aldi on a whim. It came in a pack with a stapler and some staples. I have taken it for granted ever since, but it occurred to me that people may not know of its existence. This link is for one almost identical:

I sharpened up the leading edge to slip easier under the staple, and it has been fantastic! Makes removing them quick and simple, and rarely does one leg break off the staple as it comes out. Hard to see in the photo, but it has a little jaw and hinge that actually clamps the staple as you push down and then keep pushing and the angle of the bottom lifts the clamped staple right out.
