been looking at alot of plans lately, my goal is a small outboard boat for 2 that can be built using 10' ply with no butt joints. this also has to do with limited space for building/storage, if i cant build it w/ 10' ply i dont have room anyway. so what about a 9'6" squirt? i know its small already but it does say 10% longer/shorter. has anyone done this? whats the downside? anyone know of other plans that would be better? i dont care if its open or decked, but no prams. thanks.

I suppose you could do it,but I have ridden in a 10'squirt,and it's already a very small boat.

I suppose 6" wouldn't be that much.

I really prefer (and will be building mine) the stretched to 11' version

Hi rodjr,
I just finished my Squirt, and I built it to the spec 10'. In hind sight, I would have built it to the 11' version. I am very happy with the way this one turned out, and I have ample leg room, but that extra 1' would have been nice. I am 6'1", btw. Even an extra half foot would have done. If you are taller than 6'1", I'd definitely keep it at 10'. Great boat!!

No... I can't remember why I diddn't, but I should have. I just recieved a new ss 10x14, and replaced the 10x13 alum. Today is a rainout, and I had to work, so tommrow, after Easter lunch, it's off to the lake for some testing! I also put a depth finder in the place of the fuel guage, as it diddn't work too well, and all you have to do is look down, and you can see how much gas you have! I will also take a GPS tommrow to see the actual speed. :D :D
