Steve _ Looking at these reminds me of looking at the skeleton of a dinosaur. The mass is astounding.

Thanks to all for your comments and interest. I have admired and enjoyed browsing the member's websites of construction details and travels of the great designs represented in this forum.
The idea for building this boat began a few years ago when my wife and I heard a presentation by a couple who had taken their trawler from California to the South Pacific. I got ahold of a copy of Robert Beebe's "Voyaging Under Power" and was hooked, so the choice of this project had more to do with the requirements of safe and comfortable passagemaking than any other considerations. The number of suitable designs for amateur building is limited, but the Klondike had everything I was looking for. As the framing started to take shape, my initial excitement was somewhat dampened by apprehension over what I had gotten myself into, and I have had a few moments of self-doubt. But each phase of the project has brought much satisfaction along with new problems to solve, and I've had the opportunity to talk to alot of knowledgable and friendly people who have helped along the way.
Will try to post progress pics to catch up to present.
Best regards,
Steve Hansen

Really beautiful. I think we all understand the moments of trepidation and angst And I think there is signature line that aptly describes this whole amateur boatbuilding especially for the first timer( By the time I have built a boat I will be ready to build a boat Keep up the good work. It looks like Texans are not the only ones that build big

) Champagne dreams and wishes are possible on a beer budget. Just build the boat.

Next time someone cracks wise about Noah's Ark on my Malahini boat build... I will send them a link to here
Honestly.. I admire what you are doing and a big part of me would love to do the same. My wife is not a sea-faring lady.. at all... so I will have to live vicariously through you!
Nothing inspires me more than big dreamers like you!
Build on my friend!

Re: Klondike progress pics
Lots of clamps and probably a few loose screws too!
I was hoping getting involved in this project was a sign of healthy motivation, but my partner assures me it is a symptom of serious OCD.
Too late now! I'm having too much fun to change course.
As far as miracle recoveries go, I am grateful that epoxy provides forgiveness for most woodworking sins.
