 Post subject: lazer level?

anyone use a lazer level ? for building building form?

I used a cheap one from HD. It helped, but a more safisticated one might be better. Mine was like $15.00, more for picture hanging.

I didn't use a laser level to build the jig but it did come in handy when it came time to put on the second side panel, the laser line helped give me a starting point from which to begin cutting the end of the second side panel to fit the first side panel. Since I seem hell bent on having a 'true' water line I'll likely use the laser level again to 'shoot' the water line onto the side of the boat.

Also once the first bottom half was on and extended well past the stem, I again used the laser line to give me starting point to begin cutting back the first bottom panel so it would be centered on the stem and bevelled to accept the second bottom panel.

I used the lazer some. But, i found my 4' level and my eye better.

I used it a lot...
Used to set up the form, get all of the frames level and even with each other... make sure they were vertical...
I also used it to put on the water line..

mine got a lot of use.
