25' Tahoe
I just passed the 1st anniversary of starting my 24'10" Tahoe Build. I thought I'd post some pics
Has anyone else built this boat? Where did the shaft hole end up?
Thanks, Rick
Finishing up the fiberglasing now and getting ready to bore the shaft hole. Has anyone else built this boat? Where did the shaft hole end up?
Thanks, Rick
Re: 25' Tahoe
That is really nice. I see you're another one of those secret builders with only 2 posts. At almost 25ft, that is a big boat and I would have to turn it sideways in my garage or diagonally. You must have a really big work area!

Making progress on the Tahoe. Deck is complete and ahve 4 coats of expoxy on now. I'm installing the Dashboard next and then taking to get measurement for motor etc. AFter that, off to get a custom trailer made. Maybe I can complete in 2012 (about six months behind schedule).

Wow! That is great progress and a fine looking boat. Keep it up.

I told my wife we needed a three-car garage for my projects...she told me to ask her for permission next time before I buy a house.

Coming along nice, looks great!!
Re: 25' Tahoe
Got the Tahoe in the water for the first time. Ran great. Feels very light and nimble. It was a little bow heavy but 25 more gallons of fuel bright the nose up. I am running a 14" 16 deg prop but it still makes a wake when at idle speed. Does anyone have any input on correct propeller size/pitch?
Thanks,

I'm running a 8 degree down angle drive 1.23 reduction with a 16 pitch prop. In the marina I'm in and out of gear all the time. Prop walk is a problem. You'll learn to deal with it. These boats tend to ride bow heavy. I try to keep the tank full. (And, fat people in the back. Just kidding.)

If I go to less pitch, while I gain some speed on the top end?

Re: 25' Tahoe
You're trying match diameter, pitch and max engine rpm. More dia. or pitch = less rpm.
