John - Your build is looking great. I had the same concern about getting in my Monaco from the water. How wide did you make that step at the stern? Also, how far above the bottom did you place it?

G/Day Speedracer thanks for that ok i made it 200mm down from the bottom center and 170 out from that point i have a total of 5 by 3/8" S.S. threaded rods picking up solid timber inside the transom and the outer 2 from the center pick up brackets at the engine bearers, also epoxy the bumper / step to the transom hope this helps ......John
G/Day well got the edges done in 6oz glass using Bote-Cote epoxy resin and for the first time using peel ply as well my first attempt was pretty good better than 80% my second was neary 100% and the finish is so smooth, i will do the stem next and then the compete bottom now that all the hard bits are done and also i have a handle on the peel ply ......John
well the boat is now ready to prime and paint to the water line the finish after taking the peel ply of was great took 2 hours to sand smooth and get another 2 coats of epoxy primer on, then sanded back total sanding time 4.2 hours.....John
