Started laying down the 5/16th thick deck, 2.5 wide Mahogany with 5/16” wide strips of Maple between. If my Squirt, Malahini and Barrelback are ever all parked next to each other it will be comical because they will all have the exact same decking.
Securing each piece while the PoxyGrip sets isn’t as simple as you’d think. As always, lots of geometry happening at once. The Maple strip has to be held down vertically and held tight horizontally against joining piece. Clamps alone won’t get the vertical pressure needed and they aren’t long enough after a few courses of decking. So, I use stuco lath screws, they have a built in washer, one screw pulls down and another screw comes in an angle to draw it tight to the side. Key is, don’t over torque the screw and dent the wood. I left everything 1/16th proud so all the little imperfections can be sanded out.
