I made the helm seat. I used closed cell foam scored in both directions. Wraped that around the plywood bottom, epoxied cloth to both sides then covered the outside with mahogany veneer. The edge cap was a lot of work. I made a solid mahogany cap, cut it into about 1 1/2 inch pieces and fit and epoxied them into place and shaped as needed. Then appied 15 coats of Albright. The seams on the deck are epoxy, colored with epoxy dye.
