Dear Glen'L Boats,
This is the 3rd boat that I have had the pleasure of building with your plans.
I sent photos of the first two boats built using your plans and the one
pictured below is my latest and has been on going for quite some time. The boat
has been made using A grade marine mahogany using epoxy glue and all stainless
steel fasteners. The entire boat was then covered with fiberglass using epoxy
resin. Inside was also coated using epoxy resin which made it completely
encapsulated with resin. Exterior was painted using a two part polyurethane.
The interior seat frames I made than had a custom car upholster cover them. It
is powered by a Mercury 175 hp motor with hydraulic steering. I stayed close to
the original plans except for the raised dashboard and the rear part behind the
seats. No need to say much more on the construction as I see that the Renegade
has been a very popular boat and with many builders on your site describing it.
I think I must have been among the first to start building it. I have not had
it in the water yet but will send more pictures when I do. I have been
previously built 12 boats from plans and your plans are the most complete and
easy to follow. They are a pleasure to work with. While living in San Diego
California for a short time I had the pleasure of talking with Glen. He struck
me as a hands on, very dedicated boat enthusiast and greatly admired.
