A sizeable portion of the ship was a complete steam laundry. I never dreamed a plain laundry would be such a part of the ship. But think about it, nearly 1,000 men, all with the Navy regs for spit-shine and polish, that would be a lot of laundry to do. But hey, they got plenty of steam to do the laundry.
