Sometimes it helps to go back to the basics whether it’s with marketing a business or building a boat.
We’re working on making our online store a bit easier to navigate and will be adding links on the design pages to Customer Photos & Project Registries among other changes. And, we’d like to add a section for each design that lists what you need to get started since we get a lot of questions about this.

Ken Schott first launched his almost completed Double Eagle a 25 foot wooden fishing boat at the very first Gathering of Boatbuilders at Lake Guntersville in Alabama. What an exciting event that was! Building a boat is a challenging, rewarding and just plain fun hobby. It’s not just another project, it’s a lifetime of memories the whole family will enjoy. Many who build our boats have fond memories of helping their father build one when they were kids and all the fun they had as a family using their boat. Stitch and glue boat building is touted by many as the preferred method of building for the first timer. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, this type of boat building is done by forming plywood panels around forms and then stitching them together.
