: I WANT TO APPLY_---- ONE LAYER___-- OF WOVEN KEVLAR TO THE INSIDE OF A NEW 70' TRAWLER. IT IS MADE OF FRESHLY SAWN HARDWOOD ...NOT DRIED...I WANT TO ENCAPSULATE THE FRAMES TO THE PLANKS AND ALSO THE WHOLE INSIDE HULL BOTTOM AND SIDES WITH THIS MATEREAL..WHAT ARE THE ADHESION POSSIBILITIES
As I see it, your problem is to, as accurately as possible, determine your woods moisture content. Deep inside, not only at the surface. Air drying means different things in different regions. I believe there are specialized devices that can do this. Once you know the moisture content, a knowledgeable source such as Gougeon Brothers could give you a better idea of the possibilities. If the wood is dry enough, why not? You just don't want to 'encapsulate' too much moisture into the wood.
